07/28/2010 - Our next Chapter meeting is scheduled for Saturday, August
7, 2010. Please plan on meeting at 9:00AM in the pumping
station parking lot on the Sipsey River. Normally we would
meet the end of July, but it is pushed back a couple of
weeks to get our project ready.
Our goal for this meeting is to begin erecting our sign at
the pumping station. The sign is about 10 feet wide with
three sections to display info about Alabama Power, The
Sipsey River, and DCNR stuff like creel limits, proper fish
handling, licenses, etc. It is basically a 6x6 post frame
put together with lag bolts and concreted in the ground.
There is plenty of work to do and we need as many members
to show up as possible to make easy work of it. At our
recent casting competition we had 14 contestants and a few
observers. Hopefully we will have a good turn-out this
meeting to help further the education of our fellow
anglers.
Please remember to bring a fly to put in the hat, and you
could take 'em all fishing afterwards.
